Preview: Soul of Chogokin GX-69 Goldy Marg "The King of Braves GaoGaiGar" by Bandai

-----Based on our Japanese blog-----

Hey there, Shizu Mecha here. Today we're happy to have this Gravity Shockwave Generating Tool, otherwise known as GaoGaiGar's testy Goldion Hammer himself--Goldy Marg! Let's see if this Chogokin prototype's got soul!

Soul of Chogokin GX-69 Goldy Marg "The King of Braves GaoGaiGar" [Bandai]

Sure he's stubborn but the Gutsy Geoid Guard wouldn't be the same without him or his many forms: Robot, Tank and Goldion Hammer/Marg Hand. Believe it or not this Chougokin transforms into all three!

The GGG's most massive member is loaded with gimmicks, Literally! Despite his size he is also extremely poseable, with knee and elbow joints that bend 90 degrees to allow for all your favorite Goldy stances.

The giant hammer tends to steal the show, which is a shame because there are so many incredible details to be found on him like all the clear parts used for his lenses and gauges. The Soul of Chogokin line is the perfect platform to bring Goldy's mechanical design to life.

Putting Goldy next to this Soul of Chogokin GaoGaiGar gives you a better idea of just how bulky he is. They look so good that it's hard to believe they transform, but they do! They do!!

Goldy holds his own so well in robot form that I almost don't want to transform him. Nah, of course I do!

Tank Form

The actual transforming sequence for this tank mode is still under development. I'm planning another post with the final production version. Int he meantime I can only assure you that it will be a sight to behold!

In this form his tires spin and the gun turret expands and contracts. The final version will allow you to change the angle of the gun with a ratchet (for that awesome clickety sound goodness).

Closer inspection shows how well his robot parts, like this clenched fist, store away while in tank form. I'd expect nothing less from the Soul of Chogokin series!

Goldy soldiers on into enemy fire without the slightest of cares! This form doesn't actually get much screen time, which makes me all the more grateful to have it included with this figure!

*Effect parts not included.

Marg Hand & Goldion Hammer Form

Marg Hand!

Goldion Hammer!!!

This thing towers over the +30cm GaoGaiGar. "King of Braves," indeed! This is a prototype so the Hammer Connect sequence is still under development. Look forward to that in a future post....

GaoGaiGar's hand pops off to make room for the Marg Hand. Included in the set are long and short Hammer Hell nails, two different nail tips and a Zonder Core.
Then to help hold all of this up, he also comes with a special base and an extension part for the arm. In case you were wondering-- yes, you can do core extractions!

GaoGaiGar's special Marg Hammer fist part has a beast of an opposable thumb to get a grip on the top-heavy hammer and not let go.

You could always use the pre-Goldy Marg hand part too, but why would you when this one is safer and looks so cool?

Get this--the hammer is spring loaded and has a tight give when you push in the golden parts! To help you envision the size, here's a photo of an adult male holding it. Just don't get any funny ideas about bopping people on the head!

A little gold light goes a long way! Now for my next wish, I'd like Bandai to release these in Golden Destroyer mode!

In the meantime, look forward to a more thorough review once the production version is ready(・ω・)ノシ

The key to victory!!
