Meshi here, ready to deliver another heaping helping of figure previews! Cardcaptor Sakura has been a gateway into anime for people the world over for the last...20 years?! Boy, time sure does fly when you pass it according to anime airing schedules. Let's dig in!
Despite its limited airtime (for the newbs: it only appears in the 2nd opening animation) this yellow dress has proven to be a fan favorite, speaking volumes for the power of repetition!
The lush yellows and fluffy feel of the sculpt make Sakura look like a big, sugary sweet creme puff. Then again, her smile has just a hint of spiciness to it.
So she's sweet, maybe a little spicy, fluffy and has a decidedly pumpkin aftertaste. On second thought I'm not sure what sort of dish she's like but if I have any more of it my stomach and heart are going to explode! "Who, me?," her index fingers taunts.
Her hair is as complex as her flavor! Depending on the angle it hides her eyes or just gives you the slightest peep at her adorable eyebrows.
From the back the sweeping hem of her skirt rhymes with her angel wings, making one heck of a lyrical composition. Shojo stylings don't get any better than this!
Looky here, more wings! No doubt there are deep metaphors at work here and not just a design flight of fancy. But what does it all mean?!
Here's what you get as she drifts off into the clouds. Elegantly simple, simply elegant!
The base is adorned with her name and what reminds me a lot of The Wood's hair. It's little things like this that add up to a magical total package!
Even the crown captures the soft and dreamy vibe of the manga magnificently!
You don't have to die to go to heaven--all you need is this Sakura angel on your shelf!
