Cuter Than It Sounds

Animation studio Doga Kobo has been making a name for themselves with anime adaptations of manga such as Engaged to the Unidentified and Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun. Now they're taking matters into their own hands with an original project! Say hello to the heroine of Breetschlag, a fighting magical girl show with character designs from Takuya Fujima (Dog Days, Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha ViVid). The plot is still a complete mystery but that won't stop them from selling character goods at the pixiv booth come Summer Comiket!

Prepare to Have your Ear Drums Invaded

When they said that the classic sci-fi manga Parasyte was getting a modern anime makeover this October, I wasn't expecting something so... unique. More shocking is the voice cast: Not only is Aya Hirano still around, she's playing Migi, the alien symbiote living in the main character's right hand. With Kana Hanazawa (Mayushii from Steins;Gate, Rize from Tokyo Ghoul) as the love interest and Nobunaga Shimazaki (Haruka from Free!) as the protagonist we can expect some nice ear candy to make up for the censored gore.

Thank You For Not Pirating

If you love anime and manga, soon you will have the chance to open your heart (and wallet) to prove it. Over the coming weeks the Japanese government will launch a concentrated attack against webpages with pirated content. Their smoldering husks will be wiped clean except for a link to a new portal site that offers legal ways to access your favorite titles. The anti-piracy task force, Manga Anime Guardians, would like to take a moment to thank you before nuking the bootleggers.

Bosozoku are Back

Grow out a pompadour and practice squatting like a monkey because the yankii lifestyle is in this season! In the new Square-Enix mobile game, Yankii Damashii, you fight your way to the top of the social food chain, collect parts to pimp your ride and gather a fearsome crew to make the other delinquints look juvinile by comparison.
