Madoka Sells Love and Miracles at Akihabara Animate

Mekakucity Actors isn't the only Akiyuki Shimbo-directed anime making waves in Akihabara. The halls of Animate were abuzz with news of a carefully orchestrated rebellion...

Turns out that the Akihabara Animate is celebrating the April 2nd release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion for Blu-ray and DVD with a limited-time shop and exhibit. Unfortunately there were no photos allowed for the animation key frames and design materials, but we were able to snap everything else.

These pseudo-Art Nouveau tapestries make a great counterpoint to your dorm mates's absinthe poster. It's only a matter of time before Pixiv produces fan art of the girls posing with bottles of alcohol that they're too young to imbibe.

If the third film was any indication, the series will never be given a true Tiro Finale. Imagine how disappointed the fans would be if Shaft gave the story a definite conclusion! Madoka herself may be outside the Law of Cycles, though the franchise certainly isn't.

As we reported earlier on the blog, some of the cast has traded in their magical girl costumes for kimono to model for the Kyoto confection maker Shogoin and their line of yatsuhashi mochi sweets. And with scale figures of Homura and Madoka on the way, we hope to see Mami cast in PVC as well.
