Psycho-Pass, Anohana, Tsuritama--the noitaminA broadcast block keeps bringing out original shows that reach beyond the standard young male demographic. Now they're collaborating with sweets maker Patisserie Swallowtail for desserts based on Samurai Flamenco and Galilei Donna that tantalize a likewise sophisticated palette.
Samurai Flamenco put his life on the line to prove that all you need to stand up for justice is passion--at least, until the Big Plot Twist. That's why this burning red cake is built on a base of passion fruit mousse! Stack some strawberry jam and tart strawberry mousse on top of that and you have a heroic confection that boosts your blood sugar enough to brave the rest of the day. The chocolate shell helmet and hard candy scarf give this rider a touch of class.
The Ferrari sisters deserve the finest, be it fashion, flying machines or food, so filling the pie crust with no-bake cheesecake mousse is a no-brainer. The frosting is adrift with real blueberries for a tart compliment to the rich body. Grande Rosso may be Hozuki's creation, but she might be a bit too young to appreciate the adult taste!
Patisserie Swallowtail Annex is located on the 6th floor of the Shinjuku Marui Annex shopping mall. The store next to the cafe carries character goods based on the current promotion and prototypes of upcoming figures if you're lucky! I can't wait to see these BEACH QUEENS in color. The SD offerings from Nanorich are adorable as well.
Each item comes with your choice of postcard. If I had time to go back I would have tried the Flamenco Girl parfait and macaroons printed with illustrations of the characters. This round of sweets wraps up today, but we'll be back to indulge for the next.
