Shake Hands With Smile

Character promos for this spring's Ping Pong anime are starting to hit the table to give us a feel for the voices and animation. First up we have Kouki Uchiyama (Banagher Links in Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn, Soul Eater Evans in Soul Eater) put his spin on the emotionally detached Smile--named so because he never does--as he chops the ball into a blast of magenta sunbursts that only director Yuasa could get away with.

Personal Space Invaders

Shinryaku.png

Stop me if you've heard this one--a high school student moves out of his parents' home to live by himself for the semester, only to find that he has unwanted roommates. He's soon joined by a ghost, a magical girl, a subterranean from an ancient civilization and an alien--at least, that's what they claim to be. How is a boy supposed to study for his college entrance exams in a room so cramped that he can't stretch out his legs without kicking a bishoujo? Find out when the light novel Rokujyouma no Shinryakusha!? gets an anime adaption this summer.

Shokotan Shoots For the Moon

SHOKO.jpg

Shokotan joined forces with fellow sailor scout songstresses Momoiro Clover Z, Haruka Fukuhara and Mitsuko Horie at yesterday's Sailor Moon 20th anniversary memorial tribute concert held at Zepp Tokyo. Her sketch of Usagi does a perfect job of tracing the charm of the original design. Naoko Takeuchi should make her an honorary scout--though naming her may be prove difficult as astrologers haven't found Shokotan's home world yet.

Gundamblr

Gundamn.jpg

Give your drinks a rocket boost with this tumbler fashioned in the shape of a RX78-2 Gundam's back burner. Gundanium proved too hard of a material for the metal craftsmen of Niigata Prefecture's Tsubame City to work with, so they went with the next best thing--18/8 stainless steel that uses a double wall construction to keep your cold beverages chill and the hot ones steamy. Look for it in the wood box packaging illustrated by series mecha designer Kunio Okawara at the Akihabara Gundam Cafe.
