Hanayamata Exhibit in Bloom at Tokyo Anime Center

Hanayamata! What a wonderful phrase. It means no worries for the rest of your days. Come see our problem-free philosophy in action at the Hanayamata exhibit at Tokyo Anime Center.

Watching the girls of the Yosakoi club always puts a smile on my face. The only thing more colorful than their personalities are their outfits! Manga author Sou Hamayumiba is apparently a man but he has great fashion sense. Wonder if I can get him to coordinate my wardrobe?

The anime used a unique grassroots PR campaign. First the seiyuu were featured in a web magazine and wore kimono in advertisements for the FIAT 500 Twinair Pop car. Then Enoshima Railways decorates train cars with character illustrations and set up promotional materials in stations along real-world locations from the story. With all the otaku tourism these days, fans barely have enough time to watch the show!

If the anime colored your life when it was on the air now it can color your shelves with these gorgeous character goods and vibrant Blu-ray cases. Life is short and ugly. But these beautiful pieces of plastic will stay with your forever.
