It's a Nice Day For an Ita Wedding

Some say fans go too far, others that they don't go far enough. Where this one falls is beyond us.

Prolific voice actress Kana Asumi's (Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie: Rebellion, Working''! , etc) had her wedding crashed not by a crazed stalker, but by an itasha decorated with a congratulatory message. As touching as it is terrifying, this could be the start of a new trend in fandom.

Catch Me if You Can

No, they're not arresting Sasami-san's older brother for taping her in the shower. This camcorder in a business suit should be familiar to anyone who's been to a Japanese movie theater in the past few years. He appears before the coming attractions to pop and lock for the audience before the cops drag him away for illegally recording the film--all part of the No More Eiga Dorobou anti-illegal download and distribution campaign.

Bandai has captured the crook in a new series of candy toys. Each order comes with 10 boxes assorted from five types, including the Camera Man dancing, running, and recording, his nemesis the Police Siren, and one secret figure. Fans of the character (you should see the dojinshi!) are going ga-ga for the detail on these 50mm sculpts. Personally I’m waiting for a moe offshoot where a yandere warns us not to download anime off torrents.

Gamble on Love

Give your significant other that zawa-zawa feeling on Valentine’s Day with these milk cookies from the extreme mahjong manga Akagi. The set contains five of the cast--Akagi, Washizu, Hiroyuki, and two secret characters. Depending on her taste, they might help you score big. Though if your soul mate is a fan of Nobuyuki Fukumoto in the first place, you probably already have the Devil’s own luck.
