--Translated from our Japanese blog--

We’re back today with another kawaii heroine in Kotobukiya’s Cu-poche super deformed posable figure lineup--Puella Magi Madoka Magica’s Sayaka Miki! Only your hands can give her the happy pose she deserves!

This is Meshi, here to serve up a heaping helping of figure reviews.

You remember her cheerful smile and emotional goodbye! Say hello to the third entry in the Mado Magi Cu-poche series, Sayaka Miki! Let’s dig in!

Cu-poche - Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Sayaka Miki Posable Figure

Looking at her head on, one of the first things you’ll notice is her fortissimo barrette. Moving on down past her fair bust we get a glance at her soul gem, safely resting over her belly button. The Cu-poche line offers a level of detail rarely seen in super deformed figures.

Taking in her wardrobe, it becomes apparent that Sayaka was in the hands of a master sculptor. From the belt and frills of her dress to the gold lining which beautifully accentuates her bust line, I can’t help but wonder how they managed to packed so much into an 11cm tall figure. We live in magical times indeed!

As the picture illustrates, the magnets in her feet keep her firmly planted to the base, freeing you from the laws of physics to concentrate on posing. Notice the slight gap between her back and the cape. Other than adding a sense of movement, it serves a highly practical purpose...

Thanks to the cape we barely notice the adjustable arm stand! The arm itself is very flexible and helps to recreate some of the extreme battle action from the show without getting in the way. This happy-go-lucky pose with one foot off the ground is just one of many possibilities.

Depending on how she is displayed, it’s possible to hide the thin arm altogether. Give her your best shot!

Sayaka comes armed to the teeth with 4 of her trademark swords! The included stands help to recreate her finishing move. Cut 'em all!

Her shouting expression fits this scene perfectly. Knowing the dismal fate of the girl who made a contract for the benefit of an unrequited love, it’s hard not to get choked up with this pose. Heroic tragedy splendidly recreated by a bundle of SD cuteness. Bravo!

The  interchangeable grip hand can also hold the swords, like in this fierce stance. The cape adds both movement and majesty to the scene.

Sayaka wouldn’t be complete without this expression. Her face appears to be laughing but the eyebrows reveal the pain hidden behind her lovely smile…. I can only pray that she was able to find happiness in at least one of Madoka’s timelines. Traditionalists may also remove her hair accessory if desired.

Here she is with a transformed Madoka (sold separately). When displayed side by side, the minor details in each of their sculpts really stand out. I can hardly wait to see all 5 girls together!
